- Documented selection limits
- Use only the approved ThinkSystem server, slot/riser, backplane and correct cable/firmware configuration. Port count, direct physical-drive limit and expander-qualified drive limit are separate source fields. HBA passthrough is not hardware RAID. Flash/supercap support does not imply an optional module is supplied; consult the exact option guide. NVMe U.3 Tri-Mode x1 and NVMe-only U.2 x4 configurations are different and not simultaneous universal support; feature codes/CH5Z enablement and host cabling must be verified for RAID 940. Planned U.2 support stays planned, not a delivered feature. SED support on HBAs is host-software pass-through, not a bundled encryption/key-management service. Remote management exclusions and blade drive-count limits in sourceQualifications apply.
- Manufacturer qualifications — required for selection
- Note 1: RAID 730-8i 1GB is available world-wide except USA and Canada
Note 2: SAS HBAs support SEDs by host software passing SED commands through the HBA to the drives.
Note 3: SN550 blade 4i adapters are limited to two drives and RAID 0/1; SN850 has four drives and applicable RAID modes depend on the exact adapter.
Note 5: SR635/SR655/SR645/SR665 with second-generation AMD EPYC (Rome) processors do not support remote management.
